O A.D. is a free open-source RTS game of ancient warfare, plunging the gamer into an ancient environment filled with numerous civilizations, properly rendered naval warfare, technology trees, high-quality graphics, detailed maps, etc.

0 A.D. has just been updated to another meaningful release, 0 A.D. ALPHA 11 Kronos, enhancing the previous releases on numerous relevant "levels".

"In Greek mythology, Kronos (or Cronus) was the leader and the youngest of the first generation of Titans. At the request of his mother, Gaia, he overthrew his father Uranus, and took the throne with his sister Rhea. Kronos and Rhea ruled during the mythological Golden Age, a time of prosperity and harmony, when people lived without toil, greed or violence, and no laws or rules were needed".

What is new in 0 A.D. ALPHA 11 Kronos?

• new Celtic factions (Britons and Gauls have replaced the generic Celtic faction) featuring specific characteristic (such as, Britons have chariots, melee soldiers and longswordsmen, Gauls have heavy cavalry and heavy swordsmen)
• new art assets (Hellenic docks, improved Celtic Broch fortress, new Hellenic civilization centers, Macedonian and Spartan siege rams, new technology icons, Hellenic gymnasion and fortress, etc)
• option to convert walls into gates (wall segments of certain widths can be transformed into gates, gates that can have a locked and/or unlocked state, locked gates block units from passing through them, unlocked gates are automatically opened when units are located nearby)
• graphics improvements (such as, ambient occlusion, darkening parts that are harder for the ambient sunlight to reach, normal mapping, useful to enrich the lighting of bumps and dents, consequently, adding more details to bricks, floor tiles and terrains, parallax mapping, enhancing the regular mapping, specularity, adding shininess to various elements, such as snow, gold rings, etc)
• three new tracks, Helen Leaves Sparta (Spartans), Harvest Festival (Athenians) and Rise of Macedon (Macedonians)
