Samsung announces Galaxy S III in U.S. will receive Android 4.1 in coming months

samsung-galaxy-siii-pebble-blue-finish-235x137Specific U.S. carriers will each announce their own launch date for the Android 4.1 roll-out.  It will be interesting to see who comes forward first with rolling out Jelly Bean, but I imagine they will roll it out as a big group.

Anyone who owns a non Nexus Android smartphone in the United States knows how painfully slow the upgrade process is.  Between manufacturers causing delays and carriers insisting upon extensive testing, a flagship smartphone can be plagued by older software for months on end.  According to the official word from Samsung, the Galaxy S III update to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean will take place in the coming months.
In addition, the Galaxy S III will receive updated features along with the update such as camera enhancements, Pop up play update, Easy mode, Blocking mode, and Swype support.  Of course, Galaxy S III owners will benefit from the new features
