The Blender Network
Along with powerful, secure, stable and full-of-features default components, Ubuntu offers, via Ubuntu Software Center, thousands and thousands of applications, featuring full-fledged tools and utilities, such as GIMP, VLC, Inkscape, etc, tools with a serious user base and years of development, suitable for both newcomers and professional environments.
Blender is a versatile 3D suite useful for animation, rendering, interactive creation, playback, modelling, etc, bundle of features presented via an easily graspable intuitive interface.
The Blender Foundation has just announced the Blender Network, its official partnership program aimed at professionals.
The Blender Foundation's Chairman, Ton Roosendaal, stated: "I am convinced that the Blender Network initiative will be as important for Blender’s future as the open movies and the game we made over the past 5 years. If we want to keep growing and keep investing in quality, we need to build a community of professionals specifically based on their own requirements".
The Blender Network is to support and enhance versed developers by exposing them to potential clients by presenting projects, events, press, etc, related to Blender developers, thus guiding companies in search for Blender developers, basically, presenting itself as a bridge between developers and companies.
Via a paid account, Blender Network members can maintain and develop a specific profile, housing detailed informations related to offered services, contact informations and samples of particular work, pack of informations available/visible for visitors, companies, etc.
At the moment, the Blender Network is not fully usable/ready, "the networking component will become larger, members will be able to upload more types of media to their page (Video, interactive 3D)".
