Today Sony announced that their PlayStation Mobile store is rolling out to select devices, but it appears most of you will not be able to access it quite yet. For those that do receive the PSM store, they will now be able to purchase around 20 games with prices ranging from free to $7.49.
At today’s launch, the service will be available in nine countries including Japan, United States, Canada, United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, and Australia, with more to follow.
PlayStation Certified devices include the newly released Sony Tablet S and Tablet P, PlayStation Vita, plus a long list of Xperia devices. The HTC One series will eventually be supported, but details will be announced later on. A full list of PlayStation Certified devices can be found on Sony’s site.
All PlayStation Mobile games will support the on-screen virtual DUALSHOCK controller, ensuring a unique experience across all of PlayStation certified mobile devices. And if you’re using a PS Vita or Xperia PLAY device, you’ll also be able to play with traditional button controls.
If you own a PlayStation Certified device that already includes the PlayStation Store, it should be automatically upgraded to the PlayStation Mobile store starting today. Others might have to manually install it.

Sony reports that after you have purchased a PlayStation Mobile game, you can play it on up to three different devices. It doesn’t look like any of the launch titles are that great, but new games will be released every Wednesday. Head over to PocketGamer UK for first impressions of the launch titles.
We don’t have any PlayStation Certified devices on hand, so we have yet to spend quality time with it. Hopefully it will be available on the HTC One X soon and then we can take it for a spin.
If you are lucky enough to gain access to the PlayStation Mobile store, let us know what you think of the service in the comments below.
